Writer. Dreamer. Fighter.
Hi, I’m Dallas Massey — a writer, dreamer, and believer in the power of imagination to take you places your body might not be able to go.
I was born with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Every day brought a new challenge, a new monster to fight — but I never fought alone. I had stories. I had my brothers. And most of all, I had my mom.
The Fall Prey trilogy was born from that fight — a world filled with vampires, zombies, and creeping darkness. But those monsters aren’t just fantasy. They represent the disease I battled daily: the weakness, the pain, the fear. And through it all, my stories helped me push back.
The characters in my books are more than just fiction — they’re built from real love. The brave brothers in the series were inspired by my own. And the strength that holds everything together? That’s my mom.
She wasn’t just the heart of my real life — she was the soul of my stories. Every time I felt like giving up, she lifted me. She made sure my voice was heard, even when it trembled. Her faith in me never wavered. She is fierce, funny, and full of love — and if you ever see light shining through my words, it’s because she lit that flame.
I wrote these books so others could feel what I felt: fear, hope, brotherhood, and the unbreakable love of a mother who refuses to give up on her child — no matter how hard the fight.
I may not be here in person, but if you’re reading this, you’re hearing my story. You’re walking through my world. And I’m so grateful for that.
Thank you for being here.
Thank you for listening.
